Here is an age-old question that dates back several million years (ok, maybe less than that) – Should I keep my almond butter in the refrigerator? The answer is maybe. Here’s why:
Almonds are a plant! Meaning, Nut’s Up’s almond butter contains natural oils from almonds that can go bad (we do not add any preservatives to our products). We know it is so much easier to spread, scoop and dip when it is room temperature, so it comes down to timing. Do you finish a jar of almond butter in a month or less? If the answer is yes, you’re probably ok to keep it in your pantry. However, if it takes you a long time to finish a jar (a month or more), your best bet is to keep it in the refrigerator so it lasts longer.
Always check the date on the jar to make sure you are enjoying it at its best, and give it a good stir with a clean butter knife before enjoying to mix in any separated oils.
Now go stock up on some almond butter!
